Magento Web Developer

We require a qualified contract PHP developer who is experienced in the Magento e-commerce platform.

As PHP Developer you will be developing e-commerce solution's on the Magento platform and integrating other Magento 3rd party plug-ins and provide technical expertise in the evaluation and support of the Magento e-commerce platform.

In this key role you will be responsible for providing direction and functional and technical strategy to the team and overlooking all activities involved in the outlay of a site build.

With the assistance of a Web Development team, responsibilities would include:

• Work with our team on new Magento projects, from initial business development and discovery phases through to implementation and deployment of the completed project.
• Install and configure the Magento e-commerce platform for new projects
• Maintain and enhance existing Magento websites while adhering to accepted Magento best practices
• Create custom Magento modules or other new functionality using object orientated PHP and the Magento APIs
• Work with designers to implement custom skins and templates for the Magento front end
• Understand and effectively communicate Magento features and limitations with regards to design and development decisions on new projects
• Help manage the design and development process, drive decisions and coordinate efforts of the team.
• Accurate development estimates based on technical requirements

To be successful your experience will include:

• Development & support of e-commerce platforms built using Magento including payment gateways and shipping providers
• Integration of Web Services & Magento 3rd party plug ins
• Knowledge of points features, multi-language and creation of API's
• Advanced knowledge and understanding of PHP, Zend, MySQL, LAMP, Symfony, Web Services, Magento, JavaScript & CSS/ HTML
• Knowledge of E-commerce
• Understanding of common web analytics suites (Google Analytics and Omniture) and experience implementing these systems
• Familiar with SEO/SEM best practices
