Alkemi International (previously Marketing for the Web Pty Ltd) was founded in 1997 when Nathan Stewart predicted that the future of online marketing would be geared around customer centric websites effectively optimised for search engines.
With a focus on business profitability and web site efficiency, Nathan and a small team of staff based in Prahran Victoria Australia established Australia's second search engine optimisation company. This was at a time when many of Alkemi's clients were building websites without themselves having Internet access. At the time, search engines and directories like Altavista, Lycos, Yahoo and Inktomi dominated market share and the likes of Google were still being operated out of a garage (See picture).
Alkemi quickly built a strong list of high profile clients including Rene Rivkin, Sigma Pharmaceuticals, and Accor Hotel Chain.
Today, Alkemi has offices in Melbourne, Australia and Auckland, New Zealand and has enjoyed working with literally hundreds of clients to improve their online efficiency.
